At the recent Google I/O, Google showed us the latest Android OS, Android L. Since the I/O, smartphone users were waiting impatiently to get the latest Android L on their devices. Before that update arrives, another KitKat update, Android 4.4.4 is being released for the devices.
The Android 4.4.4 update has been released for many devices till now and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact KitKat 4.4.4 update firmware build 14.4.A.0.108 has finally been released.
The new firmware is currently released for the users of Italy, Indonesia and Russia regions and it is expected that the update will be soon released for the users of other regions.
According to the official Sony’s webpage for Xperia Z1 Compact, this update include various important enhancements. Some of the key improvements are:-
- Latest security enhancements and patches from Google, including an important bug fix for
- Updated camera app for better experience.
- Updated versions of Sony apps.
- Improvement fixes for Google voice, Contacts, Music streaming and Google+
The official website also suggests that the update was released on 26/04/2014 which means that it might have already arrived on some user’s devices.
Since this update is going to be rolled out in form of an OTA (Over-The-Air), even the users in regions where the update was released, will have to wait for a while it to arrive automatically on their device.
Once an update is available for your device, you will receive an official OTA update notification on your device’s notification screen. To download and install this update, just tap on the notification and follow the on-screen prompts.
You can also check manually if an update is available for your device. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates > System updates.
