Verizon & Motorola Begun Rolling Out Android Kitkat 4.4.4 Updates For Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra And Droid Mini

Verizon & Motorola Begun Rolling Out Android Kitkat 4.4.4 Updates For Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra And Droid Mini even before the update has been rolled out for Moto X devices.

The Android KitKat 4.4.4 update has the firmware version 21.11.21 which will include a number of improvements over 4.4.2. This update brings new features, enhancements and bug fixes including:

  • Android 4.4.4 KitKat features- This update will bring all the features and goodies of Android KitKat 4.4.4 including accuracy, battery & stability improvements and security fixes including an update for OpenSSL patch.
  • Improved Camera- Better exposure, more realistic flash coloring and improved low lighting front camera captures.
  • Pause Video Recording- Now the camera app has a special pause/resume button on the view finder which provides ability to pause video recording.
  • Verizon application update- VZ Cloud and Visual Voicemail application (VVM3) apps have been updated.
  • New Isis mobile wallet application- New Isis mobile wallet application is added for contactless payment for Droid ultra users on Verizon.
  • Fixed Bluetooth connectivity issues- Some users were complaining that there were some issues with Bluetooth connectivity, this issue would fix this issue.
  • Motorola Alert Application- The new Motorola Alert application will send periodic alert updates with your current location to the contacts of your choice.

It is very strange that the update arrived for these devices before Verizon Moto X device. The update for Verizon Moto X devices will arrive soon.

Since the update will arrive as an OTA (Over-The-Air) update, it might be some time until the update arrives on your device. Once an update is ready for your device, you will receive an update notification message on your device.

If you haven’t received an official update notification update then you can manually check for the update by going into Settings > About > System Updates.

To install the update on your device, open the notification bar and tap on the System update. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the update.

Has anyone reading this post received the update? Please review the update for us.
