Verizon recently revealed that it has released Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for Droid Turbo users. Motorola Droid Turbo is a member of Droid family and has very good hardware specifications. Verizon Droid Turbo Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is now pushed to the users via OTA (Over-The-Air) update.
Since Droid Turbo already runs on Android 4.4.4 update out-of-the-box, all the KitKat features such as full screen album and movie art, transparent status and nav bars, cloud printing, revamped Location menu, white status bar icons, color emoji support, or immersive mode came are already provided. Thus, this update will disappoint all those users who were waiting eagerly for the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update to arrive on their device.
According to the official changelog pdf provided by Verizon, the update aims to introduce the new Advanced Calling 1.0 feature which makes using Voice and Data simultaneously, possible. The Email Attached has been move up for better visibility. Needless to say, this update also brings the latest security, enhancement and performance fixes with it. Since OTAs are always released in gradual steps, not all users will receive the update at once. Once the update is ready for your device, you will receive a upgrade notification on your Droid Turbo’s notification screen. Just tap on the notification and follow the instructions to download and install the update. If the update fails to arrive automatically on your device, just go to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now and check for the availability for update manually.
