Just a day after KitKat 4.4.2 update was released for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2, US Cellular users are now ready to receive the update for their Note 2. US Cellular Samsung Galaxy Note 2 KitKat 4.4.2 update has begun rolling out starting from today.
The official US Cellular’s webpage for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 confirms this news and states that after this update, firmware version will be bumped to Base Band version R950VXUCNE2.
Just like all other KitKat 4.4.2 updates that were released by US Cellular, this upgrade includes a new Phone Dialer that prioritize your contacts based on how often you use them, Camera app has been updated with an enhanced touch to focus option with a circular control that can be dragged around on the viewfinder of the screen to adjust photo’s focus and exposure and Hangout app has also been updates so that all of your SMS, MMS messages appear alongside with your conversations and video call. Emoji support has also been added to the Google Keyboard. All other KitKat 4.4.2 perks such as camera shortcut in the Lock Screen, immersive mode transparent status and navigational bar icons, color emoji support, updated Samsung native applications, cloud printing, Full screen album art in the Lock Screen and performance boosts will also be included.
Since this update will be released in form of an OTA (Over-The-Air), it will be released in gradual steps to the users. This means that while some users will receive this update immediately, others will have to wait for a couple of days to receive this update.
If an update is available for your device, you will receive an OTA update notification on your device’s notification screen. Just tap on this update and follow onscreen prompts to begin downloading and installing this update.
To manually check whether an update is available for your device, go to Settings > About device > Software update > Check for software updates or connect your device to PC using a USB cable and check for an update using Samsung Kies software.
Since this update is around 500 MB it is recommended to download this update via stable WiFi connection. You can also update your device via internet connect on your PC with the help of Kies. Also before installing this update, make sure that you have more than 80% battery on your device.
