Samsung recently revealed that it will begun to update Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Kitkat 4.4.2 OTA. The official Sprint support page only mention that the updates will be rolled out starting from 29th May. So, if you are a Sprint user then you should start checking the notification area now.
Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 received Android 4.3 update last September and now it is receiving the latest Android firmware update available. Note 2 users are surely lucky to receive official updates this fast.
Since the Kitkat 4.4.2 update is an OTA update, not users of every region will get the update at once. The update will be rolled out region after region and will be available over the air and through Kies. The official Sprint support page doesn’t provide much details to the update other than mentioning the build number of the latest update to be L900VPUCNE2. However, if we refer to other similar updates to other Samsung devices, we can assure you that beside getting the usual Kitkat features such as immersive mode, transparent status bar, cloud printing, white status bar icons, full screen album art in the lock screen, new Location menu or color emoji support, you will also get some under the hood development such as performance enhancement and better battery life. Many of the native Samsung app will also get an update.
Keep in mind that when your region get the Kitkat 4.4.2 update, a system update notification will appear in your Galaxy Note’s notification bar informing you to update to the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware build L900VPUCNE2.
You just need to tap on the notification to start download, wait for the download to complete then start the installation process and wait for it to finish. You Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should be now updated Kitkat 4.4.2.
You can also manually check if an update is available now in your region. For this, go to Settings > More > About device > Software updates > Check for software updates. If an update is available, download and install it.
