The Android 4.4.4 KitKat firmware build will bring the latest performance and bug fixes. The official changelog on T-Mobile isn’t descriptive and only shows that it will provide software stability.
The T337TUVU1BNK4 firmware build should be the last firmware build before Android 5.0 KitKat arrives on this device. T-Mobile should start releasing Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for their flagship smartphones and tablets. Samsung has already released Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S5. So, it is expected that T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 LTE Android 5.0 Lollipop update would be released some time earlier in 2015. Until then, you should enjoy the features of Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
The T337TUVU1BNK4 firmware size is only about 14.94 MB so you can download and install the firmware update using your mobile data plan. Before you try to download and install the firmware, make sure that you have atleast 50% battery backup. Also this firmware update will only be available to you if you are running stock T337TUVU1BNI8 firmware. If you have installed a custom ROM on your device then you will have to revert back to stock T337TUVU1BNI8 firmware.
T-Mobile mobile has released the T337TUVU1BNK4 firmware beginning December 8, 2014. Since the firmware has been released as OTA, it will be released in gradual steps. When the update is ready for your device, you will receive a notification alert. If you don’t receive this notification alert for too long, you can check manually for presence of update. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > About device > Software update, tap on OK to check for update. If an update is available for your device, you will receive notification. Just tap on the notification and follow the onscreen instructions. Additionally, you can also check for the update via Kies software.
