T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is now available for all users. According to the official support page of T-Mobile, beginning December 8, the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 users will begin reciveing the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. So, if you own the device, you should start checking your notification screen for the update notification alert.
The official changelog of Galaxy S4 suggests that this will be a minor update. Changelog shows that this new update only contains support for Chinese language. The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update will bump the existing firmware version to M919UVUFNK2. Update will be delivered in form of OTA (Over-The-Air) or via Kies software.
Only users running stock M919UVUFNH7 baseband firmware version will be receive this update. Also, you shouldn’t be running a rooted device. The update is about 27.23 MB in size so you can use your mobile data plan to download and install this update.
Since this update will be provided in form of OTA, not all the users will receive the update at once. Once your device is ready to receive the update, you will receive a update notification alert on your notification area. To install the update, tap on the notification alert, a popup will appear, select on Download Now to download the update. Once download is complete, select Install Now. Your device will automatically reboot and install the latest firmware upgrade.
In case update notification alert doesn’t appear on your device, you perform a manual check to see if the update is ready for your device. If the update is ready for your device, you will receive the notification, otherwise you can try again in couple of days. To manually check for update, go to Settings > More > About device > Software update. Follow the onscreen prompts to download and install the update. Alternatively, you can use Kies software to install the update via PC using a USB cable.
