Sony has just released a firmware update for Xperia TX devices. Sony Xperia TX update firmware build 9.2.A.1.215 update has begun rolling out starting from HongKong and will update the existing firmware version from 9.2.A.1.205 to 9.2.A.1.215.
Unfortunately this firmware update doesn’t bring any new noticeable changes. This update focuses primarily on bug fixes. However, there are some reports from users that this new firmware update brings new kernel and a baseband but it’s not official.
Since the firmware update has already begun rolling out, starting from HongKong, it is expected that this update will available for other regions soon.
Since this update is available in form of an OTA (Over-The-Air) update, it will be some time until the update arrives on your device, even though you might live in the region where the update arrived. Just keep an eye on your notification screen, if an update is ready for your device then your will receive an official OTA update notification on your device.
You can also check for the update manually using the System Update menu in your Setting Menu. If you see a notification, just tap on the notification message and follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
We are providing direct download link of the update at the end of this post. Although, we encourage only advance users to try and install the update manually.
It is recommended to download the update over a stable Wi-Fi connection so that your data plan doesn’t get used up. Also have a battery backup of more than 70% before trying to install this update. If your device dies in middle of an update then it might get bricked.
Has anyone reading post got the official Sony Xperia TX update firmware build 9.2.A.1.215? If so, please review the update for us.
