Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Android KitKat 4.4 update

Finally Sony has released Android KitKat 4.4 update for Xperia T2 Ultra devices. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Android KitKat 4.4 update contains many goodies offered by KitKat along with a number of Sony exclusive updates. This update has also been released for the dual variant of the Xperia T2 Ultra.

Sony’s Android developers have made some changes to the update, to give it more Sony’s look. They have tweaked the status bar, quick settings, new animations at launch and on homescreen that will give this update similar look and feel as that of PlayStation 4. Also the pre-installed Sony apps have received the update.

Here’s the changelog for the update-

  • Google Android 4.4 features- standard KitKat features and UI enhancements.
  • Custom tweaks- Tweaked Status Bar and Quick Settings which are customized to look easy on the eyes and ensures that you only receive notifications that you really need.
  • New user interface- The Sony PlayStation 4 users might find the UI of this update similar. This UI has same sleek launch animation and live wallpapers across the lock and home screens.
  • Update Sony’s native apps- Many of Sony’s native apps such as Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, TrackID, Sony Select, Smart Social Camera etc.
  • Sony’s Media apps- WALKMAN, Album and Movies, with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service integration. Sony Entertainment Network & PlayMemories integration with better UI, better download speeds, and more!
  • Xperia Themes- One of the most popular themes of all time, with over 2 million downloads and about 280 skins downloadable from Sony Select, to style up your Xperia smartphone with a variety of styles.
  • Compatability with SmartWear- SmartBand SWR10 and Lifelog app are compatible with SmartWear devices which enables you to record social, physical and entertainment activities and have them visualized in a beautiful interface.

As always, the update will be presented in form of an OTA (Over-The-Air) update, which means that the update will be released gradually in all the regions. The update might also be delayed by your carrier so keep an eye on your notification screen.
