While all other Samsung mobile’s have just started to receive Kitkat 4.4.2 updates, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Google Play edition has already begun getting Kitkat 4.4.3 update.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition (GT-I9505G) is a variant of Galaxy S4 device that run on stock version of Android. The update has already started to show up in some of the devices since yesterday, and must be available in other devices in next few days. As OTA updates are rolled out in steps instead of appearing for all devices and regions at once, so don’t be impatient if it doesn’t appear for you at once.
Android 4.4.3 includes a vast number of bug fixes and enhancements that will improved the user experience for Android smartphone users. Infact, with the next version of Android, Android 5.0 which is expected to be released in Google’s I/O conference at the end of this month, nothing major was expected to be released in Android 4.4.3.
To check for Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition Kitkat 4.4.3 update, check in the Settings > About phone > System updates. If an update is available, you will get a notification, just tap on it to download and then install.
If you are concerned when standard Samsung Galaxy S4 and other Samsung device will get Kitkat 4.4.3 update then don’t worry, a recent leak suggested that Samsung is currently testing Kitkat 4.4.3 on Samsung Galaxy S5 and S4 LTE-A devices. But sadly, as always, it will be about a month or more until the update is officially rolled out.
On a side note, Motorola also recently reviled that it will start rolling out Kitkat 4.4.3 update for it’s Moto X, Moto G, and Moto E smartphones.
