Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 phablet was launched last year and was running Jelly Bean 4.2 since then. This is one of the most popular and stable Android device released by Samsung. Samsung has just begun rolling out Kitkat 4.4.2 updates for several of its devices and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 (GT-I9200) KitKat 4.4.2 update is also on its checklist.
The available Kitkat 4.4.2 runs with firmware version I9200XXUDNE4 and is already available in Russia. As with all other OTA’s provided by Samsung, this update also will be gradually released in steps for other regions. If no issues are discovered in the update, it might take a couple of weeks before this update is available in all countries.
As always, sammobile has release the firmware for Russia regions and all willing users can flash this firmware using Odin. Although, we advise only those users to flash this update who know what they are doing.
Like in all other Samsung devices that received Kitkat 4.4.2 updates, this update include adding new and improved features such as wireless printing support and full screen album art on the lock screen. This update also provides faster performance while providing a good and improved battery life.
When this update is available in your region, a system update notification will automatically be presented in your notification bar but it might take a while when your device automatically shows the notification even though it is available. You can manually check if update is available using the Software updates menu. To whether if update is available in your region open Settings > More > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates. Also there is an option to use Kies to check for the update.
