Nexus 7 (2012) 3G KitKat 4.4.3 update

For past couple of days, several Nexus devices have received the KitKat 4.4.3 update. Though some devices, including Nexus 7 3G 2012 model were still on the waiting list. That wait is finally over, Nexus 7 (2012) 3G KitKat 4.4.3 update has finally arrived. The firmware number for this update is KTU84L. Since this update arrives in form of OTA (Over-The-Air) update, it can be installed automatically or manually.

As stated in earlier posts, KitKat 4.4.3 update mainly focuses on bug fixes and improvements. It also brings new updates to the Dialer app which has a new card based interface and the contacts are prioritized according to how often you use them.

As with all other OTA updates, this update will be released in gradual steps. This means that while some Nexus 7 (2012) 3G users will get update very soon, some other users will have to wait for a couple of days for the update to arrive automatically.

If KOT49H firmware is update available for your device, you will get a OTA update notification message on your device’s notification screen. Just tap on the notification and follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the update. You can always check if an update is available for you device manually. To check Nexus 7 (2012) 3G KitKat 4.4.3 update manually, go to Settings > About phone > System updates.

Download Nexus 7 (2012) 3G KitKat 4.4.3 update OTA with firmware build version KTU84L to install the update manually.

However, if you don’t want to wait for the KOT49H firmware update to arrive automatically then you can install the update manually via ADB sideloading or custom recoveries. Although, before you install this OTA update manually, you should know that this update is an incremental update, not  a complete factory image. Thus, you must be on KitKat 4.4.2 with firmware number KOT49H before you try to install KTU84L update manually. Otherwise you will receive fail message while installing this update.

If anyone reading this post has received this update automatically or installed it manually then please post the reviews in the comments section.
