LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Now Available in Europe Countries

Few weeks ago, LG started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for G3 starting from Romania. Now, we have reports from Reddit users that LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update is now available in European countries. The update is currently rolled out via OTA (Over-The-Air).

The latest Android 5.0 bring a lot of new features including multi-user support, new Recents screen, latest Material Design UI, Smart Lock, revamped notifications bar, lock screen notifications,  ART instead of Dalvik Runtime, better battery statistics, Screen Pinning and quick settings to the LG G3 device. The new Android 5.0 Lollipop update has build number LRX21R it weighs above 500 MB in size.

As the update is rolled out as OTA, it will be released in small steps. This means that some users will have to wait for a while for the update to be delivered on your device. Once the update is ready to be installed on your device, you will receive an official OTA update notification on your device’s notification screen. To install the update, just tap on the notification and follow the instructions.

In case the OTA notification fails to arrive automatically on your device, you can always check manually for the update. To check for the update availability manually, go to Settings > General > About phone > Software update > Check for software update.

Since the LG G3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update build number LRX21R is large in size, we recommend downloading the update via WiFi only. Also, make sure that you have a battery backup of more than 50% before you try to install this update.

At present there’s no news as to when this update will be released for customers in US. But, we expect that the update should be released soon. Although, if you own a carrier locked version of LG G3, you might have to wait longer.
