Finally we have AT&T Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. As you might already know that the latest KitKat 4.4.2 update was rolled out for several other variants of Tab 3 but AT&T users have been waiting for an update since then.
Finally Samsung has decided to release the new firmware update for the AT&T variant for Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. According to Samsung’s official support page, the new firmware will be pushed out in form of an OTA (Over-The-Air) update.
This new update will bring with it, many major changes such as transparent status and navigational bars, cloud printing, immersive mode, white status bar icons, full screen albums with movie art in the lock screen, new and improved Samsung applications, Samsung keyboard app along with many security and performance enhancements.
Since this update will be rolled out as an OTA update, it will be rolled out in stages. This means that it might be a while until the update finally arrives on your device.
Once your device is ready to receive the update, you will receive an official update notification on your device. To install this update, just tap on the notification and follow the onscreen prompts to download and install the update. Once the update is installed on your device, your device will automatically reboot.
If your device fails to receive the update notification automatically then you can check for the update manually. Just go to Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for updates.
Just make sure that you are connected to a stable WiFi internet connection before you decide to download and install the update. If you don’t have a stable WiFi connection then you can always try and install the update using the Samsung Kies software via PC using a data cable.
This new update has a firmware build version T217AUCUCNI1 and is just over 500 MB in size, thus make sure that you have an appropriate data plan before you decide to download the update.
