Android KitKat 4.4.2 coming for Galaxy Grand Duos 2, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega (5.8 & 6.3)

A leaked report suggests that Samsung is planning to bring Android KitKat 4.4.2 updates for five of its major Galaxy devices. Android KitKat 4.4.2 coming for Galaxy Grand Duos 2, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega (5.8 & 6.3). Although for some strange reasons, report shows that Galaxy S3 won’t be receiving any update. This might annoy Galaxy S3 users who are still running on Android Jelly Bean.

The report suggests that the final testing for the compatibility of KitKat 4.4.2 updates is now complete and the update will be rolled out via OTA (Over-The-Air) and will be released this month, July 2014. As soon as we know the exact dates for updates, we will let you know.

The Android KitKat 4.4.2 update will bring you many new features and changes including better performance, white status bar icons, full-screen album art and a camera shortcut on the lockscreen, wireless printing support, expanded emojis, closed captions, ability to select the default messaging and launcher apps, Samsung Wallet, NFC tap-to-pay support and updated versions of a few Samsung apps.

The update will also bring you more stability, performance boost, improved RAM usage and a better battery life.

Since this isn’t an official report, there is no guarantee that all the information provided in this report will be correct. Samsung hasn’t made any official statement regarding the updates so there might be some changes to the list.

There are also rumors that Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 will also receive the Android KitKat 4.4.3 update this July.
