Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A officially launched

All those users who bought the Samsung Galaxy S5 in last two months are in for a serious disappointment. We have a bad news for all those users, Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A is officially released, it’s a LTE-A variant of Galaxy 5 which was earlier rumored to be sold by the name of Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime. This variant of Galaxy S5 has everything that a smartphone user ever dreams of.

This variant of Samsung Galaxy S5 has all the latest features and hardware that you would want from your smartphone. It also surpasses its predecessors by a mile. The Galaxy S5 LTE-A is the first smartphone to support download speeds up to 225 Mbps, since it works on LTE-A band.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A features a 5.1 inch qHD super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and a wopping 557ppi pixel density, which is more that the LG’s G3 display. This means that you will be able to run full HD 1080p videos with brilliant colors.

Not only this Galaxy S5 variant has an amazing display, it also has the latest and faster processor available at present. It is the first smartphone that runs on the latest generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, something which is rumored to come with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 later this year. The Snapdragon 805 process features four 2.5GHz Krait 450 CPU cores and the latest Aderno 420 GPU which makes it the only process to support more than 150 Mbps network speeds.

The Galaxy S5 LTE-A dominates the memory department as well which provides 3GB internal RAM which is more than 2GB RAM offered by earlier S5 variants. The device also has a vast 32GB internal storage which can be expanded to 128GB with the help of a microSD card.

Other Galaxy S5 hardware such as 16 MP rear and 2 MP front camera, fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor and other connectivity hardware such as NFC, USB 3.0 port and IR sensor remains the same. This variant too is water and dust resistant with IP67 certification.

Software department of this variant also remains same as other Samsung Galaxy S5 variants and include various features such as Download Boosterm Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode, Health mode and Private mode.

The only necessary upgrade that Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A didn’t have is the battery backup. For reasons best known to Samsung, they have kept battery capacity to 2800mAh which came with other S5 variants. Whether this battery will be able to cope with the high power needs of a high resolution display, a very powerful processor and a LTE-A hardware, only time will tell.

Currently, Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A is currently available in South Korea only. This might be a comfort to the current Galaxy 5 users, who bought their device just 2 months back and now see the same device launched with much better specifications. Although there is no official date as to when this device will be launched for other regions, we expect that it might take few months for this device to be rolled out in the global market.

The device will be available later this week, probably around 19th June, from SK Telecom carrier for a price of 940,500 won (US$919 or roughly Rs. 55,350). The device will be available in Charcoal Black, Shimmer White, Electric Blue, Copper Gold, Sweet Pink, and Glam Red color options.
