With the technology always moving forward, a new-released Android Smartphone with top of the line specifications, doesn’t last on the top position for more than two weeks. The technology is ever-changing and so are the Android smartphones. Each new flagship Android smartphone brings something we have never seen before, latest available hardware and top of the line software to bring the best out of the hardware. 2014 saw some new and amazing smartphones, faster processors than before, bigger RAMs, better cameras and so on. 2015 will be no different, we are expecting some amazing Android smartphones to be released in 2015. We have compiled a list of top upcoming Android Smartphones in 2015.

  1. Asus ZenFone 2

    With their eyes set on CES 2015, Asus might be the first company to release a brand new Android smartphone in 2015. Asus CEO Jerry Shen revealed that they are currently talking with a second chipset manufacturer, apart from Intel to double the smartphone shipments this year. Apart from that, the second chipset might also help them to reduce the manufacturing cost further.
    Focus Taiwan, a Taiwan News company, quotes Shen saying, “All of the new phones scheduled for release at the annual trade show will be powered by Intel Corp. chips and will support 4G LTE connectivity.”

    Shen also reveals that the Asus Zenfone 2 will come with an Intel processor supporting 4G LTE will come at a price of US$327. Apart from this, not much is known about the hardware or design specifications of the device.

  2. LG G Flex 2

    Apart from LG G3, LG will be releasing another Android smartphone this year called LG G Flex 2. A poster was spotted at CES 2014 which confirmed that LG might indeed launch the LG G Flex 2 at CES 2015 in Las Vegas on January 5th. According to some rumors, the LG G Flex 2 will have a smaller screen size than it’s predecessor which means that it will be easier to hold this curved device now. A tweet from Qualcomm suggests that this device will have a new Snapdragon 800 processor at its heart. Other than that, there’s no information about the hardware specifications of this device.

  3. Sony Xperia E4

    Rumored in December 2014 but no official announcement yet. A preliminary specification suggests that it will sport a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7, Mediatek MT6582 processor with Mali-400MP4 GPU at its heart. It might have a 5.0 inch, IPS capacitive display having 220 ppi density. The device will probably have 8GB internal memory and 1 GB RAM. The device will incorporate 5 MP primary camera with LED flash and probably a secondary VGA camera. The battery might be a non-removable 2500 mAh battery.

  4. Sony Xperia Z4

    Xperia Z4 will come with IP68 certification which means that it is dust proof and water resistant under 1 meter and 30 minutes. The device will have a large 5.2 inch, IPS LCD capacitive display with pixel resolution of 565 ppi. It will have a octa-core Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor which is build of Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 processors. Also it will have the latest Adreno 430 GPU which means that Xperia Z4 will be a very powerful beast. The device will come in 32GB and 64GB variants with 4GB RAM in both variants. In the camera department, 20.7 MP primary camera with LED flash capable of recording 2160p@30fps and a secondary 5 MP camera capable of recording 1080p@30fps. Battery specifications are unknown at the present.

  5. Sony Xperia Z4 Compact and Ultra

    Sony Xperia Z4 Compact will apparently come with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal memory and a 4.7 inch display with 1080p resolution. Other specification might include a 20.7 MP camera, Cat 9 LTE, wireless charging and a 3000 mAh battery. The device might also include a IP68 specification  which means that it will be dust and water proof under 1 meter water for 30 minutes.

    Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra should come with 3 GB of RAM, 6.44 inch display with QHD resolution. Other specifications should be  a 16 MP camera and a large 4,000 mAh battery. Also, unlike its predecessor, this model should include a stylus.

  6. Google Project Ara

    Project Ara is an revolutionary project that was started by Motorola, passed on to Google when it was sold to Lenovo. The idea is to develop an open hardware to create highly modular smartphones. The device will be in form of an exoskeleton which will hold hardware module of customer’s choice. For example, some users might want more internal RAM and storage rather than a higher camera resolution or some users might want to include some sensors, like diabetic patients would want a blood sugar sensor while others might not.

    The Project Ara is aimed to give users a complete control over their hardware specifications. This project will allow users to swap different hardware modules in case of a replacement or an upgrade, which will result in longer device life.     Samsung Galaxy S6 is one of the most awaited Android smartphone in 2015. Rumors of the smartphone’s specification started sometime in December 2014. According to various sources, the device will come with IP67 certification which means that it is dust and water resistant up to 1 meters and 30 minutes. The device will have Super AMOLED, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display with a pixel resolution of about 534 ppi. Galaxy S6 will have a 64 bit octa-core processor (Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 + Quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A57),  Exynos 7420 chipset and Mali-T760 GPU. In the memory department, it will have a 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal memory. The device will have a 20 MP primary camera with LED flash, capable of recording videos up to 2160p@30fps and 5 MP second camera capable of recording videos of 1080p@30fps resolution. The device will come with a new Touchwiz UI which will improve it’s UI experience further. The battery specifications are still unknown.

    Note 5 is another awaited phablet to be released in 2015. Though there’s not much news about the specifications of the device, but according to a recent tip to PhoneArena we expect Note 5 to have UHD (2160×3840) 4K AMOLED screen with 6 inch display and a mind boggling 743 ppi resolution. Other rumors also suggests that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 might also have same processor and chipset configurations as that of Samsung Galaxy S6.

    LG G3 is still considered on of the best Android smartphone in the market. Naturally, the Android community expects more from its successor. According to the prototype devices shown by LG, this device might have the smallest screen bezel. The LG G4 might come with a 5.3 inch UHD or at least 2K (True HD), IPS LCD display with pixel density between 500-600 ppi. The device might have a octa-core (quad core 1.5 GHz A53 Cortex & quad core 2 GHz A57 Cortex) MSM8994 Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU. G4 might come in 32GB and 64GB variants with 4GB RAM. Although there’s no news on the battery capacity but there are some rumors about the camera. It’s expected that LG G4 might come with a 16MP back camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front facing camera.

  10. OnePlus Two

    After releasing quite admired, yet controversial OnePlus One, OnePlus is going to release it’s second smartphone OnePlus Two, code named lettuce. According to rumors, the device will have a 1080p 5.5 inch,  LTPS capacitive display with 401 ppi resolution and corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It should pack a quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and Adreno 420 GPU. It’s also expected that the device should have 3GB RAM and comes with 64 GB of storage. The device should have a 16 MP rear and a 5 MP front facing camera with a 3300mAh battery. The device might come running with Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Oppo’s Color OS on top, instead of CyanogenMod, which means that Cynogen won’t have any hands in this device.

    Moto X was very successful, it came with great hardware and at a great price. In the past few years, Motorola saw two new faces, first acquired by Google in 2013 then by Lenovo. Currently there’s no news or leaks on what will be the hardware or software specifications of the device.

  12. HTC One Hima or HTC One M9

    HTC One M8 was a huge success, so we expect a lot from HTC One M9. According to the rumors, it should support 4G LTE with a 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 420. The device should come with 32GB internal memory and 3GB RAM. The device might incorporate a 5 inch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 IPS display with pixel resolution between 400-500 ppi. HTC One M9 should come with a 20.7 MP dual LED primary camera and a 13 MP secondary camera. There’s also speculation that it might come with 2840 mAh.

  13. Next Nexus device

    According to some rumors, Google might simply ditch the Nexus line. Also since Google has always been so unpredicted in naming conventions, we are quite unsure as to what will Google name their next Nexus device. LG gave us Nexus 4 and 5 then Motorola gave us Nexus 6 but no one knows who will deliver us the next Google’s flagship device.
