  4. Security

Complete security is the foremost factor which made us choose this app as the best Android email app. All the user information is stored on client side, i.e. on your smartphones/tablets. MailWise doesn’t use their own server between you and your email provider, which means that they don’t have any access to your emails. Many other email apps use their own private servers between you and your email provider. Thus, if you exchange confidential information in your emails, this is the best email app for you.

This type of security is usually present on corporate provided smartphones in order to prevent data theft. MailWise provide a way to bypass this security so that you can easily configure additional email accounts.

  5. Price

The most important factor in selecting an app for a common user is price. Luckily, the MailWise app can be downloaded from Google PlayStore for free! That’s right, this email app is completely free to use and there’s no pro version of this app. The developers have provided all these wonderful features for free.

Other email apps for Android

There are several other fantastic email apps for Android. If you don’t prefer MailWise, you should certainly try these email apps.

  1. Aqua Mail

In our opinion, this is the second best email app in the Android market. Aqua Mail also provides support for several email accounts including Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, FastMail, Apple mail services, GMX, AOL, hosted accounts by Google Apps, Yahoo BizMail, etc and easy setup for Office 365 and Exchange Online. It also supports internet email protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP) as well as Microsoft’s EWS (Exchange Web Services) protocol.

The app also provides widgets and swiping gestures for easy access. Aqua Mail can also integrate with 3rd party apps such as  Tasker, Light Flow, Enhanced SMS & Caller ID, Cloud Print, Apex Launcher Pro, Nova Launcher / Tesla Unread, Executive Assistant, DashClock Widget, etc. You can find all the features of the app by visiting the PlayStore.

The major downside of this app is that it’s not completely free. The free version of the app only allows you to add two accounts at the time, with no identities. Also, the free (lite) version of Aqua Mail adds a promo signature to all the outgoing emails that you send using this app. The promo signature contains a link to the app’s website.

  2. CloudMagic

CloudMagic is another wonderful email app which is completely free. This app also supports several email accounts including Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook, iCloud, Google Apps, OWA, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, AOL and other IMAP accounts. Similar to MailWise, this app also provides a unified inbox. The app also provides push notifications for emails using cloud services. Other features include a passcode to secure your data, 3rd party app support, Android Wear support, etc. You can find all the features of CloudMagic by visiting the Google PlayStore.

The only downside we found about this app was that the emails were pushed from their clouds. This means that they have their cloud between you and your email provider. Needless to say that the clouds are highly secure and they respect client’s privacy. Clouds are used by CloudMagic to decrease you data and battery consumption but still the fact remains that their cloud will have complete access to your emails. So, if you are OK with CloudMagic having access to your emails as a middlemen, then you should definitely try this app.

  3. myMail

myMail is another free email app which packs some nice features. This email app supports several email accounts including Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Outlook, iCloud, Live, Exchange or GMX, and any other IMAP or POP3-enabled mailbox. The app also provides customizable push notifications, unique email signatures, filters to organize emails, easy navigation and search, etc. You can find all the details about the features of myMail using the PlayStore link.

Although this app is light weight and very fast, it doesn’t pack all the features provided by MailWise. Especially the ability to convert email conversations to message conversations. Nevertheless, this app is also quite good looking and packs all the features you will need as an average users. So, if you want a clean and simple interface, this is the app for you.

In your opinion which is the best email app for Android? Do you prefer any other email app than MailWise? If so, what features you think are missing from this app? Please share your views with us.
